The USS Rabaul (CVE/CVHE/AKV-21) was a Commencement Bay-class escort carrier laid down on January 2, 1945, and launched on June 14, the same year. It was never commissioned, but it was struck from the Navy List on September 1, 1971. After the striking, USS Rabaul was sold for scrapping to Nicolai Joffe Corporation in Beverly Hills.
